How To Properly ‘Colour’ Granite

Whilst granite is available in a variety of colours, sometimes it is necessary to ‘colour’ it using paints so that it matches a particular theme or décor you are trying to achieve. To ensure that the colour you have chosen lasts as long as the stone, you must ensure that you choose a paint that is resistant to weather and ultraviolet light. Step 1: Thoroughly clean the surface of the granite using a neutral pH balanced cleaner. Wipe it away using a microfiber cloth, then leave the whole area to dry for around 15 to 20 minutes. Step 2: Purchase a bottle of stone paint in a colour of your choice; this should be available at most hardware and home improvement stores. Then, dilute half a bottle of paint with half a bottle of an appropriate solvent. Step 3: Using a large paintbrush, apply the diluted solutionto the surface of the granite.
